Yes, I am Back

It appears I have spend so much time away from blogging that my first 10 min was figuring out what the hell my password was. That's the case when you have like a few hundred passwords and a senile brain like mine.

Honestly, I do not know since when my blog is slowly taken over by so many pictures where I think it actually contributes to the fact why I lost interest in blogging. Blogspot is totally a shitty place to upload pictures.

Another reason that adds up a certain percentage on my recent lost interest is also if I were to type out what happens on a daily basis, I believe it would be so mundane that you would have fell asleep just reading the first line. At the end of the day, the fact that I begin blogging again is perhaps I missed typing.

During my sudden disappearance for this 4 months, nothing exciting has happened to me other than my new found love in my job. I realised maybe for the first time in my life, I made a right choice; as in the right choice being an engineer. I shall not go further into details on why I said that because well, I would have fallen asleep just writing the first line.

On a side note, I found out one small fact of life. That is you should never ever do anything that is morally not right cause it will come back to haunt you in your later days; despite the fact that you want to right the wrongs. I guess that is just the harsh reality. Stupidity is something which is hard to atone for.

Not that I regret the choices I made before, but rather are you able to live with the aftermath of it all. Well as my personality goes, I am just going to fuck it. Since I have tried and nothing can be done, HAHA, Life is still going to go on.

Let's talk about new found love.

I am starting to get annoyed with the latency of auto vehicles and really hungry to change my car to, which in my current state of financial ability - my dream car. But well, having a car itself is already a luxury so I am trying not to get myself too troubled with that. I shall just live with my current car for the time being and see how things go.

Hopefully it wouldn't be another 10 years before I update my blog again. Ok, I think this entry is really really random.

We have known each other since we were 15 years old and finally, after 10 years of waiting, two of us is finally getting married - The very first ones.

With months and months of eager anticipation, preparation, and discussion - the day finally came.

14th December 2008.

Another routine Sunday for many people. While almost the entire nation was still asleep, a handful of people were already awake preparing for this unusual Sunday.

Congratulations Tengyee and Shirley!

I truly believe it must have been a very joyous and unforgettable day for the two of you but trust me. I think it was even happier for us cause it's an amazing feeling to see two people whom we have almost known for all our growing up life, come together and eventually marry.

Honestly.Amazing.

I wished you two go through a life of stories for many to be envious of.

Finally, I get the rarest of the rarest chance where I was not required to work. To kick off this memorable day, my colleague and I were off to the airport to send several of my company's colleagues back to Singapore while both of us had to stay till 6th Dec. OhMyFuckingGod~

Of course, with the sparing of waking up early on a Sat morning, I was definitely in the best of moods and decided to take my very first picture of the day which would make even potatoes smile.

And that bastard in pink is my colleague who was thinking what the hell I was doing. That's why he is a bastard. Ha. Ha.

These are really ancientic pictures which I have left in my memory card for ages before I actually had time today to upload them. And I was told that my work here in Vancouver would be like on a holiday. Very. Funny.

Anyway, these set of pictures were taken from a restaurant called Boathouse that is, as the name suggests, somewhere near the sea. Dinner was awesome with steaks that purge out juices with every bite and dissolves itself with just the slightest movements of your tongue.

And did I mention that the restaurant was situated in a district called Whiterocks; with houses that are equivalent to that of Orchard Road.

And finally was the highlight of my trip here. I went Go-Karting with a bunch of Singaporeans cum Canadians who are working in the company which my company owns. I have actually tried karting once I think in Singapore but if my memory doesn't fail me, the karts in Singapore are damn slow with makes walking look much faster.

The karting I tried here was just pure adrenaline rush. Superb night. Pardon for the few pictures taken. I had only like 10 min to take the pictures before I jumped on my kart and went loose for 40 min.

Just yesterday, another group of my company's people flew over to Vancouver with the name of "training". But with training hours from 9am to 430pm, I fucking call it on holiday for a month.

And so, we made a last minute decision to drive across the borders to the place where commoners proclaimed, "The Land of Dreams".

We had only one destination in mind. The factory outlet where rumours were that they even made prices of pasar malam look expensive. It's how filthy cheap this place was.

Strange enough, this was the only time when I am actually carrying my camera, yet no time to take pictures. I adore this place. Few steps in and I saw the name of an outlet that would make girls scream.

The minute I step into the Coach outlet, I thought the handbags and wallets were all made in China. Cause their prices made me feel so. Imagine a handbag selling for approximately SGD $200. Even a non Coach lover like me knows that they are selling way cheaper. Laughable prices.

Above are only a fraction of the outlets that have. And above are the only pictures I took for the day. So you can imagine how busy I was shopping.

.. I was enjoying my Sunday before work starts again on Monday. I hate Singaporeans all of a sudden. Call it jealousy or whatsoever. Fuck you all.

I woke up to one of the craziest mornings ever. The visibility was so terrible that for a moment I thought Canada was just beside Indonesia.

Camwhoring with an SLR is really not an easy task. But well, we were waiting for a friend and since I had that extra time in hand, why not? Ha. Ha.

This is a noobie driver, paying extra attention to the side mirrors, as well as the rear.

And with more experience, you don't even bother looking.

It started out on a Sat morning when I was lying peacefully on the hotel bed, watching online shows on the company's laptop. I looked out the windows and thought to myself, "This is not the way to spend my first weekend in Vancouver."

That was when I decided to take a quick shower and head out for some shoots. Armed with nothing but a car, a map, and of course my Nikon, I drove out without any destinations in mind.

Just when I drove pass a school, I saw they were holding some soccer competition and decided to take some sports shoot.

Fuck, I miss soccer. Too bad my knee is 25 year old mentally, but 65 physically.

It's not that I particular liked the player, but whoever wears the number 6 jersey will always get special privileges from me.

This is one dish which I have grown to particularly liked over here. Ironically, it's a Viet food called Special Beef Noodles. I fucking love it.

After 17 hours of flight, I suddenly feel appreciative of travelling from Pasir Ris to Jurong.

The thing is, I haven't got the confidence to drive it cause canadians drive on the wrong side of the road. So till I really have to, the driver shall be my colleague whose travelling with me.

Central "Go Japan" Matsuri Festival

I was wandering around Chinatown taking pictures when I chanced upon a cosplay festival at Central Market in Clarke Quay.

Surprisingly, I didn't know there were so many hardcore anime fans in Singapore. Truly. Amazing.

You might be able to recognise some of the characters but too bad I am not really an anime fan. Other than the characters from Bleach, the rest are alienatic to me.

Kurusaki Ichigo from Bleach. I like the way he prepared his props and the amount of time he spend on it. Schools should revise the study curriculum. Students have too much time on hand.

There was this one pose by L below where he was pretending to listen to his phone. As he took the handphone out, his hp cover dropped into the coffee which he placed on stage. Damn hilarious.

And finally a guy whose head is remarkably bigger than me. It brightens up my day.

The Thing about Modelling

Actually, now as I recall, I am beginning to understand why I decided to pursue a line in engineering. Ever since young, while young kids were spurging on Barbie dolls and condoms, I was buying those DIY models such as cars, bikes, and even robots.

The first ever model I build from scratch was a Tamiya car which mindless kids, like me, would buy and every weekend, as long as Power Ranger wasn't on air, I would be at the shop racing my car away.

Soon, I got sick of it or rather, I got sick of buying new cars over and over again. The reason was simple. My Tamiya car would always run out of track and end up either in 3 pieces under a van, down the drain, or somewhere which my huge tummy then inflicted on me a certain difficulty in chasing. In addition, building a Tamiya car was getting too easy for me - much more easier than laughing at my English teacher.

And so, I decided to move on and get something which would pose a higher level of difficulty to build and yet won't move. That's when I started buying model bikes. A bike then would cost me around 30 SGD which to a 13 year old kid, was rather a huge sum. I did massive sacrificing by downsizing my 3 burgers during recess time to only 2 servings of burgers.

You should have seen how skinny I was then.

The challenge was, building these type of bikes required a special glue which cost about 3 SGD then. I did the most logical thing. I.... Well just say somehow, I managed to get it for free =)Soon, after building 4 model bikes and 2 model cars, I decided to try something new again. Robots or more specifically, Gundam robots whose anime shows were rather popular among students then.

The thing was, that were so many different versions and variety of it that I lost count of how many I bought, and how many that are lost.

Up to date, the only surviving models I have and displayed proudly is one Strike Freedom which I bought 4 years back or so. 2 years ago, a new version of Strike Freedom appeared in the market and back then, the price put me off and I didn't had the courage to buy it I was seriously dying inside to get it but too bad.

At that time, I was a recruit - brainless and definitely penniless. But few days ago, I finally did something which I waited for 2 years...

Introducing the new version Strike Freedom. Scale 1/100 and Master Grade version. I got this on Friday night and on the very same night, I set up my work station, got all my tools prepared, and started tearing apart the huge box.

These were the pieces awaiting to be fixed up together. Don't you just orgas from the sight of it.

As I had little sleep the night before, my 3 cans of Redbull were only enough to last me till 430am and as reluctant as I was, I had no choice but to hold the assembling till next morning.

And finally, after 10 hours and 20 min, I finally pieced up every single piece although some mishap happened in between the assembling. I didn't realise how strong I was and accidentally fractured the Strike Freedom's finger.

East Coast, Frisbee, and Girls

And so on Saturday, I was given the rare opportunity to take my first ever sports shots at East Coast. To be frank, what attracted me was the promise of the flooding of girls. Coupled with my extra distance zoom lense now, I can hide behind a tree and take photos now. Don't you love my camera?

The four display sets in Shawn's Honda Jazz. I never had any idea what they were used for other than it takes up unnecessary space oh the dashboard.

Yet, Another New Addition to the Toy Factory

Recently, I procured a new addition to my photography gadgets. The Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS. Name's a bit long, but just know that this lense typically has two advantages over my previous basic kit lens (18-55mm).

Firstly, judging from the numbers alone, you realise that the new lense can zoom up to 200mm over the previous 55mm. In layman term, it basically means now I can get a better zoom up view on my neighbours next door.

Secondly, my new lense offer OS function which means Optical Stablisation. This means that if you are one typical guy with over shaky hands due to excessive playing of your willy, this Sigma lense will not totally, but at least minimize the amount of vibration transmitted from your hand.

The filter size is huge though, measuring 72mm.

Lense in normal 18mm range.

Extended to 200mm maximum. I reckon the ladies are amazed at the length now. The last I read, it reads "Made in USA".

Comex'08: A Nation's Gathering

Only thrice in my life do I see the nation gather for a common purpose; the first was when Mcdonald's launch Hello Kitty, the second was during Millenium (Year 2000) at Orchard Road where Singaporeans had gather to see the end of the world, and the third just happened a few hours ago at Comex - the day when IT gadgets are showcase in a common place which in this case is, Suntec City.

It only took me a few minutes at Comex itself to actually realise how inferior the Jurong Mrt aunties were at pushing people.

Amazing. I found myself once again making decisions which surprise the shit out of me.

Heading down to the city when major events are being held is really not considered a wise choice. But the temptation of shooting fireworks is too much to resist. Just too bad I didn't arrive earlier to get a better spot.

With the additional mishap of having a faulty tripod coupled with my half fucked shooting skills, things get only get worse.

My friend took this picture himself. I believe it was a futile attempt to scare me.

Lesson learnt: Always arrive early and double check your equipment before leaving your house.

National Day

How did you spend your National Day? I actually agreed to spend mine at the zoo.

I am amazing.

To kick start the nation's 43rd birthday, we had our brunch at Dargon Gate Restaurant in Harbourfront Centre. The food was disappointing and perhaps the only redeeming factor was that their prawns were fresh.

First Day

After weeks of unexplained disappearance, I am back to blogging. Many a times I type in words, but never full sentences cause I have seriously not much to update.

Just that today is special cause it is the first day of my first ever full time work at a local engineering company. Honestly I did nothing much today, except for warming up the chair, photocopying stuff, and perhaps brainstorming for ideas to decorate my first ever own working space.

In my previous jobs, if you even consider them as jobs, I never had my own stuff, not even my own pen.

Actually, what really surprised me is the astonishment of how people can stand taking the MRT to work early in the morning. Despite their age, those aunties and uncles do such a good job pushing me that they could surely qualify as outstanding fullbacks if they were to ever play American football.

I mean come on, I know you want empty seats and I am definitely not one who will fight with you cause being the typical courteous me, I am always the first to volunteer my seat to pregnant women, as well as the elderly. And no, I don't give up my seat to fat women.

The reason is simple, I once gave up my seat to a rather huge size lady. Before that, I was struggling with the fact of whether she is pregnant, or she just have a huge stomach. I chose the former so guess what?

I unintentionally made her embarrass when she told me she is not pregnant. I decided I shall hurt no big girls from now on.

And throughout my entire MRT experience, I reckon pregnant women and elderly are the best cure for insomnia. People who are furiously punching away on their PSP falls asleep right away when they see one deemed suitable as "Give your seat up to me".

Seriously pregnant women and the elderly are so effective against insomnia that I reckon they should apply for a patent for those who find it hard to sleep.

All right, off to sleep I go. I hate waking up at 6am.

Kit's Special 25th Edition

He is someone I've known for almost half of my life.

What has first started to be a detested face, has now become an undetachable part of my life.

He shares an uncanny resemblance to a leech or perhaps, he might really be one.

And so, for 16th July which is his actual birthday, we had an earlier celebration for him on 11th July; exactly 5 days before his actual day which is also the number of times he either got ditched, or being suspected a gay.

Being the good friends we are, we decided that instead of buying his present a few days before meeting him up, we started searching for it half an hour before the celebration. As what they say, good things take only half an hour to find.

We finally bought a pendant from Agnes B. with a size of a 5 cent coin, but the worth of whatever's left in my bank. It is ok. I am willing to do anything for friends.

After which, we adjourned to meet up with the birthday boy at a dinner place of his own preference.

3 words.

Worst.Choice.Ever.

The restaurant was the worst ever, definitely not the cheapest and if there is any single thing that was done right the whole night, would be probably that they serve their green tea hot.

I forgot to mention. That gay looking guy below is the birthday boy. And because it is his birthday, I told him I would take more pictures of him, rather than myself.

I kept my word.

After probably rated as one of the worst dinner ever, we took cabs down to Clarke Quay where we started some random group cam-whoring.

And then to a random club in Clarke Quay which was initially rejected by me, but subsequently changed my mind after I heard the phrase "dancers wearing bikini".

After flipping through my calendar, it came to my attention that there is actually a totally of 5 people's birthday falling in July itself.

I realise one truth - I came back at the wrong time.

And so the day finally came, after waiting for approximately 2 years. I am excited, are you? You should be.

Anyway, I am glad that I made the decision to come over to Australia to obtain my degree; partially grateful to NTU for the fact of throwing my application down the chute not once, but 3 times. One thing I would like to clarify is yes, it's true to say that I came overseas to buy my degree after failing get into local universities.

But if you think studying overseas is easy, you can go fuck the wall.

I am glad that I met many wonderful friends over here and the truth is, without them, I have no idea how I can successfully complete my degree within 2 years. If I am given the choice, I would love to put each and every single name along side with mine in the certificate.

Luckily I can't.

Questions are often post to me nowadays and the most frequent one would inevitably be "What would I miss most here in Australia?"

The first thing that come to mind would definitely be the booze drinking and second, would probably be the people who can count themselves lucky enough to have met me; and which I so often take advantage of.

They are Malaysians for goodness sake, their existence is purely for my enjoyment. Ha. Ha.

As of this moment, I am almost done with my bag packing and nursing a weakened stomach which resulted from excessive seafood indulging the night before; and puking afterwards. Karma for consuming too much oysters, prawns and crabs. My life is only catered for instant noodles and cheap can food.

I mentioned before that I would elaborate more about my NZ trip which I am so lazy to do so. It doesn't help reminding myself every single moment of the rabbit I killed. Never mind those I ate, but those I killed; I remorse.

If there ever is retribution, then let me be the top 10 wealthiest person in the whole world. With such powers, I can buy an entire farmland and I promise to keep a mountain of rabbits, allowing them to eat deluxe carrots and fucking themselves silly everyday.

Seriously I'm an animal lover, but only when they are served on a plate. Other than that, yeah, I can live without them.

I shall have an early night today, for tomorrow, I shall swim in Char Kway Teow every night.

New Zealand Highlights

If I were to conclude my experience on the 10 days New Zealand trip, I can say it's filled with many first time experiences for me.

Driving on snow. - Checked.
Driving when it's snowing. - Checked.
Experience the coldest weather. Ever. - Checked.
Puncture my fuel tank. - Checked.
Killed a living rabbit. - Checked.

Yes, I punctured my fuel tank and killed a rabbit on the very same day itself.

You see, driving at night in New Zealand can be so scary since it's pitch darkness out there and the only source of light I have is from my car's headlights. But that didn't stop me from hitting an average speed of 110km/h at times.

Before I can react to anything, out pops this rabbit infront of me and the next thing I know, I heard a bang followed by a familiar jerking of the car which is pretty similar to crossing a hump and there you have it; I killed my very first rabbit.

Speed regulations are pretty strict in NZ. 50km/h means 50km/h, 70km/h means 70km/h. But for a 100km/h speed limit, it means anywhere from 100 - infinity.

For the fuel tank, it was pretty much the very same case except this time round, instead of a rabbit, there was this huge rock infront of me and it concludes how I punctured my fuel tank and had to spend 2 hours the next day to have it repaired. Luckily the car had insurance and there was no need for me to pay anything.

All in all, I can only say that I am glad I went for this trip, spending a total amount of just 1.4k SGD inclusive of everything. Anyway, I am damn tired now so enjoy the pictures.

Exploring New Zealand - First Day Mishaps

As of now, I am blogging away in Queenstown, somewhere in the middle of South New Zealand. The weather has been rather cruel lately, with occasional showers, little snow, and constant thick clouds.

Well for once, driving here has been fun and I gained my first experience on driving on a snowy day which I shall elaborate more when I get back to Australia next Wednesday; and also after I finished trying all my Initial D drifts. I have, to date, around 700 pictures and a tonne of dirty clothes. I have to say, snow is a pretty crap shit. Other than it's finer than ice kachang, there is nothing else fascinating about it.

As it is winter now, you can expect the temperature to be around 8 degrees in the day, around 2 degrees at night, and is gonna keep getting lower as you head further south of New Zealand.

And so I was talking about my first day..

It was a total disastrous day. First off, all three of us in the house woke up late. Waking up late early in the day signifies one thing - the rest of your day is gonna be fucked up - which is definitely true.

So we got up late and hurriedly packed all our luggage into my friend's car which I will be driving to his house (he left it with me) so he can send us to the airport and drive back the car. When I got into the car, the windows were fogged up, we were rushing for time, I tried wiping the windows but it was still pretty bad and so doing the logical thing that all guys do, we fuck care. Hence I did my reversing in the slowest possible manner due to the poor visibility. All of a sudden, this fucking white van appear behind me and what follows next is perhaps what I described as a flash of my life.

Fuck, where the hell do people paint their vans white? Anyway, luckily my car was slow so basically I just scratched a bit of my paint. I did, again, the most logical thing. I drove off.

I picked up my friend, told him a bit on the incident, offered to gave him my ass virginity as a payment for the tiny scrapped paint, and drove to the airport. Taking note that we were already late, we certainly would prefer a nice and smooth trip to the airport.

But, yeah you guessed it right. There was a traffic jam. Ha. Ha.

By the time we reached the airport, there was around one and a half hours left. There was a queue at our luggage check in area. Finish checking in our luggages, 45 min left. The girls were lovely. Just when I thought we better go ahead and actually go ahead for the physical check in (as in chop passport), they said they want to go and eat breakfast. Ha. Ha.

By the time they finish eating, there was only 10 min left till boarding time. We left and head for the check in custom.

What I saw was perhaps the longest queue I seen in my life ever since after Mcdonald's launch the collectibles. Halfway in the queue, we were already 10 min past the boarding time. So once we cleared the customs, an announcement came.

"Can the passengers of flight DJ80 to Christchurch, Miss XXX, Miss XXX, and Mr Hong Zee Kueng please come to Gate 78 please? We are all fucking waiting for you."

Zee Kueng your backside lah, They can never get my name right. Ang Mohs seriously ought to consider having hanyu pinyin lessons as a compulsory curriculum in their education.

Anyway so yeah, I had my first again. Getting my name called.

The air stewardess was smiling at us when we reached the gate but somehow I felt a 'fucking asians' look in between her eyes.

Skip the story short, we arrived safely at Christchurch, rented our car, and drove 2 hours straight to Lake Tekapo where we stayed the night there. Not to end the misfourtunes, we were blessed with a faulty heater in an area where it was 2 degrees celcius.

The Unexpectable

I know I surprise myself at times and today I did an unexpectable - I went picnic-ing.

But well, luckil the weather was good and the most important thing was, my friends knew the right way to tempt me. They promise me good pictures since it was by the river. I obliged. I am a pussy when it comes to taking pictures.

The definition of a park is basically somewhere whee u can see trees and rubbish. Upon reaching the designated park, I could hardly see any trees around cause it was practically infested with people. What else do you expect on a Sunday afternoon?

Anyhow, we started wandering around in search of an empty pit where we can barbeque our stuff. Yes I do not know why we are barbequeing when it's theoretically a picnic. Malaysians fascinates me all the time.

But well, I am cool with that since a picnic means eating bread. I hate bread and this fact will stand unless you have like 5 slices of meat in between. Instead of using the bread to cover the meat, I will do it the other way round. I'm a carnivore.

I do not know why. But I feel like crying when I see the picture below. She seems pitiful, longing to go somewhere in search of a better life. Ha.Ha.

And the girl finally reaches Bombay.

Honestly, I have never had the final courage to eat seafood over here in Brisbane. I mean the temptation is there, but the price isn't. Every single time when I actually convince myself that "Okay, today I am gonna eat nothing but seafood", the digits on the menu never fails to make me think twice.

But perhaps it's the festive mood; perhaps I got duped by my friends; somehow or rather, I found myself in the car and on the way to Darra - where rumour says that the Vietnameses there make seafood that even puts the best chef to shame.

They lied.

The only thing worth complimenting is that the seafood was fresh. Other than that, an Indomee with two sunny eggs beats them anytime.

The only food worth commenting was probably the fish. It has been 6 months since I last ate steam fish.

After dinner, there came the last minute idea of catching a movie. The girls wanted to watch Sex In The City but seriously, who pays such money to watch a movie with no sound effect, or CG? I rather rent a video tape and watch at home.

So the guys make the most logical choice (as usual); we went to watch Incredible Hulk.

Is it just me or do I hav a feeling they don't really like Asians?

After movie went drink coffee. Fullstop.

All right, half-time's over. Time to head back to my soccer match and hopefully catch some sleep. There's a picnic tomorrow followed by my New Zealand trip on Monday =)

Phew, it has been a long day.......

I realise since 2 weeks ago, I haven't had a decent rest at all. Of course during that time, revision basically occupied 2/3 of my time. Now exam has finished, I have been busy going out.

Take yesterday for example - just right after my final paper, I had dessert at this random restaurant. Today I went to Sunshine Coast for the whole day; tomorrow I have a party at a friend house; Saturday I have a seafood dinner with my friends; Sunday I needa get some stuff for my New Zealand trip; Monday I am flying off to New Zealand for 10 days till 3rd July.

Tell me lah, where got time rest?

Sorry for the corny title. I admit it's pretty corny. But well, least to say I am glad that my last paper's finally over. All I can do now is pray for the best, and party till the max =)

Well, I didn't actually celebrated much today though. Basically, I had some random dessert somewhere in Chinatown. The food looks nice; but the taste suggest otherwise. But I guess I am just me. I am not realy a dessert kind of guy so well, maybe girls like this place better.

My Crumpler bag was supposingly my school bag. But as of now, it has officially become my camera bag =)

Ice mocha. Pretty normal. Sucky chocolate though. I expected more for the price I paid.

If there is anything for me to miss once I go back to Singapore for good; the answer is definitely gonna be the bunch of Malaysians I met since my first day here two years ago.

Although I address them as Malaysians, we mean no criticism at all. It is just our way of addressing each other; take it as a definition of the friendship between us. For example, one particular over here always opens his sentence in MSN by saying "ooi Singaporean!".

Anyway, knowing that I will be having my final exam tomorrow and most probably I will be wasting my dinner on instant noodles, they offered to cook for me. How sweeeettttt~ Although this is kinda early, I presume it's time that I use my Nikon again =)

The above effect was simply done by using Slow Flash. I accidentally hit the wrong settings but effect came out kinda cool and so it was spared from the wrath of my Recycle Bin.

A staple dish that comes with every Chinese cooking is something we called - Rice....

Excellent Veggie fried with scallops. I don't know how the veggie taste like. I only aim for scallops. Ha.Ha.

Lifeline

I send my warmest gratiude to all the lovely people out there who offered me solutions for my laptop such as: replacing it; Dell's website; anti virus programs which I have already tried before; and even the possibility of dropping my laptop from the 23rd floor.

I am therefore glad to say my laptop has sort of recovered which I have no idea on the reason behind it. Somehow, it just recovered to a certain extent where I can use it for 5 min without the urge of using my sledgehammer.

As friends probably knew by now, I am having my exams this few weeks and that explains my sudden disappearance from MSN lately due to revision and seriously, MSN is a major distraction.

Just the day before, which means yesterday, I had my first paper on Control Systems. As the same for the first exam paper I took 18 years ago, I made careless mistakes as if I was gifted in it. Let's just hope the 50 dollars note I stapled along with my answer sheet will do the trick.

On a side note, I realise taking exam papers is something which you will never grow accustomed to. Prior to exam, I still experience this nauseous feeling and the frequent flash of "Fuck I wana shit". My palms grew exceptionally sweaty this time round, possibly due to the fact that this might be the last examination period that I will be going through in my life and I intend to make it so.

These 2 weeks, I have seriously neglected my Nikon to an extent that I notice this layer of dust settling on the surface of it. I can't wait for the end of my exams on Wednesday and I promise I am gonna carry my Nikon wherever I go =)

My Laptop's Up The Lorry

The assumption here is almost everyone owns a computer and we know how much we can't live without it. I confess, I fall under the category of a total geek. I feel totally uneasy if I never touch the keyboard for even a single day. I don't even feel this way if I had to skip touching my dick for a day.

So being a geek, may I ask what's the worst situation that can strike you?

Perhapshavingaspacebarthatdoesn'tworkisdaunting; or perhaps I can say a scarier thing is when you know your laptop is having some serious shit problem. I guess I shall give a bit of background review before thumping in the actual facts.

As it appears now, my blog is totally littered with pictures which I have captured from my Nikon. Just a short while ago, I was experimenting on working with RAW images on Photoshop. But the problem here is that I have a Photoshop program that's even older than me which eventually leads to the fact that it can't support the software to edit RAW images.

So the inevitable conclusion was that, I had to get a newer version of Photoshop. Spending my money on an original software is inventive but certainly not smart. Besides, who pays for such stuff?

Now I am not saying I am downloading pirated software. For all you know, I might be that smart ass who spends my money on getting an original software that has an equivalent value of 2 Lambo wheels.

So anyway, somehow, some way I managed to get hold of the newer version of Photoshop. Just as I thought I finally installed it and can finally play around with RAW images; lightning struck. My taskbar was gone, my normal desktop appearance stops running and I had this error "userinit.exe has stop dont-know-what-fucking-application" shit going on.

Even a moron will realise that the Photoshop is virus ridden. As the old man says "You get for what you pay". So being the specialised geek that I am, I tried getting rid of the software by accessing my Control Panel into "Add/Remove the Fucking Program".

"Rundll32.exe is also unable to run that fucking application" pops out.

I realised I am seriously screwed in my arse.

Till this date, I have basically downloaded and run almost all anti virus programs available online. So yes, why not I reformat? Smart question. It shows that you have substantial knowlege in computer to understand the plight I am in.

After trying all the methods known to human, I realise I had no choice but to resort to reformating my laptop. I set up an altar, joss sticks and joss papers in preparation to pay tribute to my porn collections.

Then lightning strike my arse twice. My cd-rom wasn't working, which rules out the chance of reformating using cds. So I switch to another alternative method, reformating by clicking on the Windows XP Pack itself.

"Rundll32.exe can't run the application. Again. Fuck you. Ha.Ha."

If your common computer knowledge doesn't consist of just knowing how to switch the PC on or off, you should understand how screwed I am. Basically, ya, I am pretty running out on solutions.

Perhaps if you have better suggestions other than opening up the window beside me, hold my laptop out of the window and letting go of my hand, I welcome you to give me suggestions.

Wrong, I beg you to give me suggestions.

But either way, I am so gonna send my laptop to the technician once I go back. Sighhh..

Ok, laptop aside. I recieve a horror news yesterday. One of my close buddies who has accompanied me through secondary school, Poly and have known till now, is finally doing the impossible. He is getting married. I feel happy for you. Seriously.

Finally one less guy to fight over women with me. Ha.Ha. No lah. Seriously I congrats him. Be sure to wait for me to go back before you ROM yah?

This post is damn random. I haven't been taking much pictures lately due to the shit load of work. But on the bright side, I have finally submitted most of my work for this semester, including a freaking 90 page final year project report. Only one report is left before the commencement of my revision for what's hopefully, my last exams in my life.

Weather hasn't been good lately. During every transition of season, I always notice this period of rain. For example, the rain today has lasted the whole 12 hours and I reckon it's gonna continue tomorrow. This is is traumatising. I hate bringing umbrellas to Uni, especially when my umbrella looks so pussy and I, so manly.

This picture is also damn random. After taking a random shot at the weather outside, I saw my housemates all gathering in the room and looking at the top richest people in the world. I wasn't that much interested since my name is not on it yet.

Ok, time to end my random post and sleep.

It has always been one of my principles, if I had any, to sleep during rainy days.

Second Birthday in Two Weeks

Apparently, several of my friends' birthday falls in May. Last week, I attended Fei's birthday and this week was my housemate Amy's birthday.

To be more exact, I think her birthday was on Wednesday. Being the sweet ole' housemates that we are, we made a cheesecake for her prior to 12am.

Technically, I did help in making this cheesecake.

The manufacturing technology of a cheese cake is not merely about BAKING it. It involves many sophisticated stages that requires quality measurement, supervision and expertise.

I was in charge of opening up the ingredients, stirring the ingredients, open up more ingredients, and stir more ingredients under the watchful eyes of another housemate. But well, we are glad that the cheesecake turn out nice. I knew I had talent. My egg beating skills are second to none.

And so, we end the night eating our cheesecake, drank ourselves silly (Ok, only 2 glasses of red wine) before heading to bed.

The next day, she recieved a pleasant surprise half way through her lecture. Someone send her a huge bouquet of flowers. Either that guy is rich, or he is dumb. Anyway I happen to know that guy, he's both.

Because of timing problems, her birthday party was only held yesterday in our backyard. Well, parties in Australia are all about booze and pool. Enjoy the pictures..

Dream Came True

Random Lunch

One year ago, this certain senior friend of mine brought me and my friend (The Chinese who can't speak mandarin. Seriously, I don't know why I was so bad then to give him such a nick; his hokkien sucks as well) to this certain taiwanese eating place. Ever since then, the aroma of the food has been haunting us endlessly.

But the thing is, this certain senior friend is no longer in Brisbane. To worsen things, non of us bothered to remember the route to this eating place cause the road was pretty windy; plus the fact that I am horrendous when it comes to recognising routes. GPS was invented for me.

So anyway, we did try to look for this place a while ago when it was dark but failed, lost our way, almost ran over some dogs, and nearly had an accident. We concluded that this place was cursed.

Skipping the details a bit - today, we found ourselves on the hunt for this eating place again. I mean, it's broad daylight, surely things won't get any tougher. So, after our lectures today, our short trip begins..

Short note: I was constantly winding the windows up and down to take pictures and that for a moment, they nearly kick me out of the car in the middle of the highway.

I have still not good in taking pictures of humans at all. My friend is just 20 and he looks 60 in this picture. Sigh, my fault..

After much turning, swerving, evading and referring to the street directory, we finally found our place. As what I recalled in my memories, the place was indeed very secluded. Located right beside the trackways, in the middle of nowhere; yet providing one of the best taiwanese food I ever tried. Make it Chinese food as well.

What I like about the presentation of the food is that it gives overseas students like us, a sense of feeling that it's home-cooked food with the only difference is that this mum is a 5-star chef.

Yam/Taro milk tea. My all-time favourite. My only choice when I order bubble tea anytime, anyday.

The Troublesome Thing About Being Alone

If Santa was here to grant me a wish, I would certainly ask for a maid who can cook well; better still, one that's sizzling hot and have legs so long that Cameron Diaz will look like a midget beside her.

No, I don't want a giraffe.

The fact is, I hate it when I get hungry. When I get hungry, it means I have to cook something. When I have to cook something, it means I have to drag myself to the kitchen and make myself smell like a sushi at the end.

I mean I do like cooking but that is only when I am in the mood. And most of the time, I am not in the mood. To me, cooking is just a waste of time and luckily, I am not really one whom commoners consider as a picky eater, or in my terms, The Fucker. I satisfy my hunger easily, even with just a pack of instant noodles.

So sometimes, you can see me just settling my meals with a simple instant food. On special occasions like my birthday, I pamper myself with an extra egg. But well, there are still times when I actually do whip up a decent meal.

For example, today.

I cooked myself a nice replica of claypot rice. Replica in a sense I do not have a claypot and as a result, I dump all my stuff into the rice cooker. You can call it rice-cooker rice if you want.

Even though I did not really pay much effort in preparing the meal, it turns out to be nice - as usual.

What can I say? Talented people like Yours Sincerely performs well in everything. Sigh... It's my curse.

Just in case ya wondering what's that white stuff at the back of the plate, it's what we call, dim sum. Surprise that I can even make DIM SUM?

You should be, cause I am.

The trick is easy. Go to your nearest grocery store and look for instant made dim sum. Just chuck them in hot water and wah lah~ you have yourself dim sum that you can even use to impress the ladies =)

Refugee

I confess.

I was halfway through doing my by-right-70 pages-worth-of-report when I suddenly just feel something was amiss.

Something just did not feel quite right and guess what? The next thing I realise, I was holding my camera in my hands and walking around my house. This is definitely not normal. I am a healthy 25 year old guy.

In such times of needs, I should be re-defining the term 'procrastination' by watching my movies instead of snapping pictures around my house which I have grown sick of looking at.

On a side note, I had this sudden thought. This thinking that every Singaporean should be awarded a Nobel Prize for having the ability to express their thinking using the shortest sentence possible.

Just to give an example, I hate the fact that whenever I have to speak to Ang Mohs, there is a need for me to restructure every sentences that comes out from my mouth. It's seriously a waste of time.

i.e. "Hi Mate, how's it going? So where are you heading this evening to enjoy yourself and perhaps get into a little party mooood?"

When in simple Singaporean's language, the whole idea in that sentence can be reconstructed into "BROTHER! Ho seh boh?! Tonight go where chiong?"

I don't know how you think but I am proud of the fact that I am a Singaporean; to the patriotic extent that I have to recite my national anthem before sleeping every night.

It has once again reached that climax of the semester which is gonna detach me from the slightest thing like cooking a simple meal, to major issues like watching Disovery Channel.

There's approximately one month+ left to exams and it is during this time of period that I will be so freaking busy doing my endless reports and assignments.

Do pardon me if I won't be updating as frequent as I did. There is always the archives on the right to read from; but seriously, stay away from those first year entries. Even I feel horrified reading them.

Buddha Festival

I haven't been praying for ages and that's why, despite being the lazy-old-me, I still managed to drag my big fat arse to the yearly Buddha Festival that was held somewhere in Southbank.

Ok, I shall not hide the fact that part of the reason I actually went there was to take the fireworks that was supposingly said to be displayed in the evening. The word was supposingly, which means you can imagine how my face was awing in a wtf expression when I realise that I actually got the date wrongly.

The fireworks were scheduled for 2 days later. Fuck~

Anyway, the trip wasn't a wasted one. Booths set up there offered food which have been solely missed such as crispy chicken chops, sweet and sour pork and many other more.

On a side note, did you read the title? It's Buddha Festival, perhaps that implies all the food I mentioned were made of flour. Yeah I had tonnes of flour that night. Fuck~

But well, I did took quite a fair bit of pictures for missing out on the fireworks which I have uploaded on Facebook. I was too lazy to upload them here. And forgive my snoopy-like eyes in one of the pictures. I was too tired.

History of Camera-lism

I think, my passion for photography is inherited from my father.

Back then, I always wonder why he carries this black box in his hand and keeps asking me to smile for like a stupid retard. It was later when I realise that this certain ugly box was a so-called camera.

I fell in love with it instantly. However, it does sets me wondering why there is always this ugly boy that looks like me in the picture.

My first camera was disposable oneS. Notice I said 'ones' cause I remember there was a period of time when I would always force my mother to buy disposable cameras for me. If she refused, I would make myself a public nuisance by crying.

It never fails. I classify myself Godlike in that.

The second proper camera, if my memory doesn't fail me, came when I was in Primary 4. On and off, I changed several cameras, all using negative films. I never consider photography as my hobby. I just enjoy taking pictures. That's all.

Before I realise, I stopped holding camera for a few years.

I don't know why and I forgotten why. Probably because I failed 'Art' so much in secondary school that for once, I decided to take a picture of that bloody banana and hand it up as something I've drawn.

First digital camera came into my life when I was 20 I think. It was a super dodgy model from Minolta. After using the camera, I understood why I never heard of that brand before.

When I started using Canon IXUS Series cameras a few years back, I fell in love for the 1st time. Even ugly people looks good in the pictures, that's what I call - a good camera. But I seriously wasn't a camera enthusiast at all. I just love taking pictures on every occasions.

After buying my first SLR camera (the current Miss Nikon D40), I think I am actually shooting pictures a lot more; gone were the days of using point-and-shoot cameras. I think I am turning into a camera enthusiast. Although I confess my pictures are bit sucky most of the time. But who says you must be good in your hobby right?

I hereby decided that, I shall conquer the world with my Nikon, till the day I decided to change my love for others =)

Never Say Doesn't Mean Anything

Many a times, I get questions on whether am I having a good time as an overseas student in Australia. Well for one, the only possible thing I like over here is the cheap beers.

Other than that, I detest the lifestyle, the endless assignments, the countless reports and the fact that the cheapest prata here is priced at $10 bucks. Perhaps the prata comes with free diamonds, I never had the chance to find out.

I hardly talk about my school work; not because I don't have any. But rather for the sole reason that I am constantly revolving myself around assignments and while I have the chance to blog, I certainly want to stay away from those moments for a while.

The chance of me opening up the Microsoft Words or Excel is higher than seeing me watch porn on a daily basis - I am that busy with work.

The fact that I can't wait to graduate has also been rebuked by many people. Statements like "No you will miss your student's life" and "You will realise how fun being a student is once you start work", has done nothing but making me think that guy is an arse.

I don't think any engineering students will say they enjoy life as a student. What's so fun about memorizing endless formulas, holding the calculator more often than I hold my dick and writing reports as if I'm electing myself as the President - the truth is, NOT FUN AT ALL!

As quoted by one of my fran, "Singaporean guys really have things tough."

You see, now I am 25. Honestly, if I take a look at my CPF account, I think even the piggybank of a 5 year old would have more digits than me. It's not like I didn't do any work during my vacations. It's just that none of them contributes to my CPF account.

At 25 and still not working, I do feel ashame of myself at times. Ok, all the time. Maybe you have your own views, that's your problem. I am an idiot. I have mine.

To give a little background, I came out from Primary School at 12, and as usual entered secondary school at 13 and attained my O's at 16. After that went poly for like 3 years and serve my nation at 20. Upon ORDing, I came straight to Australia at 23. You see, even though I was fortunate enough not to be retained at any period of my schooling life, I am still just an undergraduate at an age of 25.

Plus, being born with a dick, it means I carry the responsibility to save up for things like my marriage and my future family, as well.

That is why I can't wait to start on my career. 18 years of non-paid life is enough. I want to start earning money and for once, give money to my parents on Chinese New Year instead of the other way round.

3 more months...

3 more months before I graduate and a managerial position at perhaps KFC will be my first stepping stone towards my enterprise. Behold!

Procrastination

Presentation, Conquered

As quoted by me once, "In an era of war, even the greatest fighter has to have the maximum rest to perform at his maximum capability."

Prior to my presentation this morning, I took note of the fact that in order to perform at my best, I should rest early the night before. So at exactly 11pm yesterday night, I found myself switching off my lights and lying on my bed.

1130pm: Ok, I wonder how the presentation will be tomorrow morning.

12am: Great, I can feel myself falling asleep soon as long as I can get the ah chek who stays next door to stop his coughing.

1am: This is weird. The coughing has stop, his snoring has begun, I am still not falling asleep.

2am: I have counted 1000 sheeps, not including the fact that I restarted my counting 3 times as I lost track of the number of sheeps in the farm.

3am: Is the clock on my handphone spoilt? How come it reads 305am now?

4am: Is the sun rising? I think even with my degree of myopia, I am seeing some trails of sunlight coming from my window. And I am suppose to wake up at 6am.

And yes, I did fell asleep after that, literally knocking myself out with my fist.

6am: NiNahBeh. Why so fast?

I arrived in Uni in my neatest shirt, most trendy tie, in fact the only tie, greyest pants and blackest black shoes ever. Somehow, I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be, at least from what I assumed to be.

The whole event lasted from 8am till 5pm. And Yours Sincerely, was the 2nd presenter. Presenting early in the morning has its pros and cons. Well for one fact is that most for the students will still be suffering from 'why the fuck do i have to wake up so early' syndromes. So as a result, most of them do not give a damn on what you are presenting, prefering to speculate on what's installed for morning tea instead.

But guess what? I suffered from that syndrome as well and coupled with the lack of sleep, I almost couldn't last through my 12 min of presentation. Even my supervisor commented after that, "What happen to you? You sounded so energetic for the first 4 min. Yes, only the first 4 min. After that you sound like you are dying."

In fact, I am.

Ladies and Gentlemen, this has once again emphasize the importance of having enough sleep prior to raging on a self-proclaimed war. Anyway, I am glad that the presentation has finally ended.

I think I should consider electing myself as the President. On my first day upon the royal desk, I will make sure I bar all presentations. Presentations should never be hold in public. You can do it at home with your girlfriend or whoever, I don't care.

On a side note, despite donning on my best presentation attire albeit the only attire, I was hurt emotionally when my friends say I look like Ah Pek.

Seriously, in what way do I look like an Ah Pek?

I even went through the efforts of putting on my victory ankle-socks. You guys just don't appreciate the beauty of ankle socks. Pffttttttt.

Anyway, the Asians whom are in the same final year as me. Comprises of Singaporeans, Malaysians, more Singaporeans, more Malaysians, and an extra Hongkie. Lol.
