saw a show in the afternoon on ESPN..
its ESPY i tink. sort of grammy award for sports players

there they pay a tribute to George Weah, a Liberian born soccer player. he was a legend, just that he is not dead yet.. anyway they did a short documentary on his country Liberia.

one of it was a interview by a boy. i remember clearly wat he say
"i was born on Oct 22nd 1988. i am used to holding a Ak in my hands. evryday i led an army of 31 men to the fronts. i was a leader, i was a major. now i am tired of all this, i want peace"

this i not makin up one.. it really happen. i was really shock when i saw it.. at an age when i was still foolin around with my O'levels, he is aready fightin using guns.
liberia is currently quite a chaotic country. people r stil fighting war within. even kids as young as 12 hold up guns. this guy george weah, went back to his country after he retire from soccer in an order to bring back peace. he wants to use soccer and some how divert their attention from war. this was wat was said by one.
"whenever his game was played, evryone stopped, even with guns in their hands"

quite inspiring i thought. i am not tryin to say how great a man he is, since i don knw him well..
but rather the situation thats happenin around... i tink SG kids including me are really fortunate people..
